The chimney is the most important component of the fireplace as it takes all the products of combustion to the outside atmosphere. Your chimney is one of the first things we look at when we do a site survey at your property. We look to see if the flue is the right size for the appliance and that it is in good condition. If the flue is in a poor condition or is found to leak flue gases into bedrooms, loft spaces or even the neighbours property, we can install a flexible flue liner from top to bottom. Our flexible flue liners carry a minimum of 20 years warranty. Having a flue liner installed to a woodburning or multi-fuel stove also improves the efficiency of the appliance as the liner takes out any resistance within the flue and creates the perfect draw for the stove. Please note, it is very important to have your chimney swept at least once a year, or twice a year if you are mainly burning wood. This will keep the flue or flexible flue liner clean and free from blockages and it will also keep the flexible flue liner warranty valid. Take a look at the HETAS advice sheets at the bottom of every page for more information.
